From your first phone call to taking your photographs home, this, in a nutshell, is what you can expect from Modern Photographics’ professional portrait studio.
When you first step into Modern Photographics you will more than likely notice a pair of Brandon’s shoes by the door. He feels like this is his home and, out of habit, takes off his shoes. You are not required to take your shoes off, but if you’d like to, the carpet is really cushy. :)
Jenn will greet you with a smile from her office door. Jenn is our Office Assistant. She knows what’s going on around Modern Photographics, and will be able to help you with any questions you have. Jenn is the one who answers the phone around here. She schedules your appointments, reminds you of your appointments, and gives you a call when your portraits are ready to be picked up. She handles all the filing and she knows where everything is. We are very thankful to have Jenn on our team of professionals.
Brandon is the owner of Modern Photographics and a professional photographer with over 11 years of experience. During your portrait session with Brandon, I guarantee you’ll laugh, sometimes hysterically, no matter your age. Portrait sessions are a blast with him because he gets to know his subjects, what makes them smile, what doesn't, and he makes them feel extremely comfortable. Sometimes you’ll even forget it’s a portrait session you are having so much fun!
After your portrait session, you will set up a time that is convenient for you to come back for your proofing and ordering session. Please schedule this time when all people involved in ordering can be present. This date will be approximately a week after your portrait session.
During your proofing session you will have plenty of time. We will make sure you are comfortable by offering you a drink or snack while proofing your portraits. You will see your portraits the first time as a slideshow, complete with music. Then we’ll assist you in choosing the perfect portrait for your wall. With our projection system you can even see your portraits in exact size, that way you know just the way it will look when you take it home. Don’t forget to take advantage of our professional framing service.
Jenn will give you a call when your portraits are ready to be picked up. Usually they are finished within three weeks, however, during the holiday season it may be a bit longer. Rush service is available.
Emily hides behind the scenes in her office working diligently as our Graphic Designer. She has over three years of professional album design and can think up pretty much anything when it comes to design. From business cards to greeting cards, graduation announcements to baby announcements, Emily can design it. She is also Brandon’s wedding assistant.
Emily and Brandon have been married since September 2000, and have one daughter, Lily, who turns five in March. You’ll know when Lily is at the studio because there may be toys on the floor. She leaves a few of her toys at the studio for your children to enjoy.
We carefully schedule our appointments to ensure the best amount of time for you. We have a waiting room for our clients, but it is rarely used. You are extremely important to us, so we will do everything possible to make sure you are comfortable. We’ll take your coat, offer you a drink or snack, and show you where to go depending on the reason for your appointment.
When scheduling any portrait session, please feel free to take advantage of a complementary consultation. This helps us to know exactly what you are looking for in your portraits. A consultation is just a quick meeting with your photographer to plan for your upcoming session. Your photographer takes this time to get to know you, help with wardrobe planning, answer any questions you may have, and plan for your session. Consultations are not mandatory, but highly recommended.
